Set on the Pearl River delta in southern China near 23 degrees north latitude, Guangzhou is a major coastal city of roughly 16.1 million residents. It runs on China Standard Time, the nationwide UTC+8 offset, and applies no daylight saving, so its clocks stay eight hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time across all seasons.
