Der Winkel zwischen dem Meridian und dem Stundenkreis eines Himmelsobjekts, der misst, wie weit das Objekt sich von seinem höchsten Punkt (Transit) entfernt hat. Stundenwinkel null bedeutet, dass das Objekt beim Sonnenmittag auf dem Meridian steht.
