Chongqing is a vast municipality in southwestern China, its urban core home to roughly 7.5 million people near 30 degrees north latitude. It follows China Standard Time, the country's single UTC+8 offset, and observes no daylight saving, keeping local clocks eight hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time in all seasons. Set deep in the country's interior along the Yangtze, well west of the coastal cities, it nonetheless shares the same official time as the eastern seaboard under China's unified zone.
