With about 9.6 million residents, Dongguan is a manufacturing hub in the Pearl River delta of southern China, near 23 degrees north latitude. It follows China Standard Time, the country's single UTC+8 offset, and observes no daylight saving, so its clocks stay eight hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time across all seasons. Sitting close to the Tropic of Cancer in the Northern Hemisphere, the city shares its official time with the entire mainland under China's unified zone.
