Xi'an is a historic inland city in central China, with a population of about 9.6 million near 34 degrees north latitude. It keeps China Standard Time, the nationwide UTC+8 offset, and observes no daylight saving, so local clocks remain eight hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time throughout the year.
