Nanjing is a major city on the lower Yangtze in eastern China, home to roughly 9.3 million people near 32 degrees north latitude. It observes China Standard Time, the country's single UTC+8 offset, and makes no daylight-saving change, keeping local time eight hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time in every season. Situated in the Northern Hemisphere not far inland from the coast, the city shares its official time with the rest of the mainland under China's unified zone.
