Yangon is the largest city of Myanmar, home to roughly 4.5 million people. It observes Myanmar Time through the Asia/Yangon zone at UTC+6:30 — one of the small number of half-hour offsets in use worldwide — held constant with no daylight saving, so local clocks stay six and a half hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time. The city sits in the Irrawaddy delta near 16.8°N, 96.2°E. Formerly the national capital, Yangon remains the country's commercial centre and most populous urban area.
