Xiamen is a coastal city in southeastern China, with a population of about 4.6 million. It keeps the country's single official standard, the Asia/Shanghai zone at UTC+8, maintained nationwide with no daylight saving, so local time holds eight hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time year-round.
